Can't rush a wonder with Lee

I got the great leader Lee with the americans.

I sent him back to a city where I'm trying to build the Universal Suffrage wonder. But, when I try to rush the wonder, I get a message from the advisor saying that I can't rush that building.

What's wrong here?

I also tryed to rush another wonder with the same leader (Theory of Evolution), and it didn't work either.

Yet, sooner in the game, I had been able to rush the Hanging Gardens with Washington.

I switched production to Wealt in the city, waited a turn, then turned it back to the wonder, and tryed again to rush it, but it doesn't work.

And I don't see any way to build an army from that leader.

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

I think its a bug. I recommend you reinstall civ 3 and maybe it will be fixed.... I used to have a great leader than when i wanted to rush something the game crashed, then i reinstalled civ 3 and the problem was fixed.

are you sure you tried the right way? By using the "rush" button on the map screen? The yellow one that only is there while the leadser is in the city? if you use the rush button in the city screen tha game will try to rush via pop/money, which is impossible!

Looks like what Killer mentioned above, you stated you can't build an army either......are you sure you know the proper way of doing these things with leaders? Do you remember exactly which way you used the leader for Hanging Gardens? Maybe you forgot? All leader rushing/army building is done from the MAP screen, not within the CITY screen. If you already know this then I have no idea what's going on, never heard of this.

Well, I'm beginning to ask myself now...

But, when you talk about the Rush button on the map, do you mean by right clicking on the city and selecting Rush building (or something like that, maybe Hurry Production, I don't remember exactly the term)? Because I tryed it this way too.

I tryed with the Icon normally used to rush buildings from the city management screen, and I tryed right clicking on the city from the main map screen. In both cases, it didn't work.

While still in MAP VIEW (not city view), and the leader is in the town, you will see two new buttons appear at the bottom of the screen. One for Build Army and one for Rush Project. I'm talking about two, new, round, gold-colored buttons...just like the buttons for workers to Irrigate, or Build road, Join city, etc.

If your not sure which is which, hold your pointer over the buttons and a pop-up will come up with the description of each button.

No, when you're on the map select the leader, then at the bottom (Where the fortify, disband, wait, etc.) click the Rush Improvement button. That's also where hte form army is.

Already mentioned is that leaders are activated from the map screen, not the city screen.

Not mentioned are some other possibilities. Wonders can not be selected if any of the shields in the current construction are from disbanded units or forest cuts. If this is the case, finish the current construction then use the leader for the wonder, or build the wonder in another city. A third possibility is that another city in a player's empire is constructing the wonder. Only one city in each empire may have any particular wonder under construction.

Well, that was just it: using the command buttons for the leader...

Crazy how one can forget so basic a thing in just a couple weeks...
