Can't See Terrain Details

Hi, I recently installed Civilization 4 and I can not see the details on terrain. These things include tribal huts, roads, villages, farms, and resources (iron, horses etc.). I own a GeForce 6800 with the most recent drivers and I have installed DirectX 9.0c. Any ideas how I can fix it? Thanks!

I read here somewhere a bad nocd crack was causing this?
