Can't start a game

Glad Barend is back up and running... but I had been about to suggest that buying Civ retail may NOT give you BTS 3.17.... I recently purchased BTS due to issues I was having and discovered that the retail version was 3.13... so I still had to patch up to play FfH....

Maybe this will help future players :p

When I load the mod, select a civilization, and a map. nothings is wrong, but when the game is loading I gat a failure message and the game exits. Can somebody please help me because is really sucks. Also when I want to look into the civilopedia it doesn't the pictures of units.

i'm suffering from the same problems as described above, and i've tried all of the things surrgested on this thread and none of it has worked =[

(for the record, normal Civ is working, it's only Fall from Heaven that will not)

can ANYONE help me?

Load Fall from Heaven and from the main menu go into your Advanced -> About this Build menu. Take a screenshot form that menu and post it here.

I have Beyond the Sword fully updated. I downloaded Fall from Heaven 2 and it doesn't even make it to the base screen, it just says "Beyond the Sword has encountered a problem and needs to close."
Any suggestions?

The current version of FfH2, v0.41a, is made to work with Civ4 + BtS, patched to v3.17. A patch to v3.19 has recently been released, and FfH2 will not yet work with this patch. If you update Civ to v3.19 and then attempt to run FfH2 it will crash as you described. The only solution is to reinstall Civ4 and only patch to v3.17.

Unfortunately, some versions of Civ4 will not allow you to do that (for example, the Steam version), because they automatically patch to the latest version. If you are using such a version of Civ4 then you have no choice but to wait until FfH2 is updated to a version that will work with the 3.19 patch.

(PS While you wait you could be asking Steam or whoever not to force patches on you. That's what I'd do, anyway.)
