Can't start/play Civ 6

So I was playing a game when I saved and logged out to eat dinner. when I logged out steam wanted to do an update so I click OK. When I came back I had to restart Steam and re-log in.
However steam did not reconcile my password, even though it was right. I then did a PW recovery/re-set via my Email, the new PW also is not being accepted. So I did the process again and still keeps saying my password is wrong.

So now I can't play Civ 6 even though I own the hard copy CD. anyone else have this issue. OR have any idea how to help?

This is a steam issue, not a Civilization issue, so I'd say, ask steam, not a civilization fan site.

That said...

1. Did you check caps lock?
2. Did you check username?
3. Did you not mess up username and the name other people see? Steam is confusing with this; I'm playing with my email as name while I got my name as login name.
4. Did you try "reset password" and then used the mail you got to create a new password?

Do you remember your steam ID Username. If so, you can request to reset your password and a mil will be send to your registered email to verify.

OK so apparently I was using my Email as my Username. Steam doesn't allow this so it assigned a Username to me based on my real name. which I did not know about because I have the keep me logged in option on.
All fixed now
