So here's the problem:

I just reinstalled Civ5 after some weird SNAFU happened on the game's text. I installed a patch + 3 DLCs. When I tried to start the game, nothing came up. So, I tried reconfiguring the game's folder by rewriting some of the files while keeping the DLC. Then, when I start the game, at the middle of the intro movie (sometimes at the beginning, sometimes at the gamespy logo), a messages comes up and says "Civilization V has stopped working". Civ5 has worked before in my computer. How can I fix this problem? My OS is Windows 7, btw.

 mmhh...is game core threading disabled? (how to)
Are your graphics drivers uupdated?

My graphics drivers are up-to-date. But I can't find "EnableGameCoreThreading" in my config.ini file. I tried searching it using the "Find..." option but nothing came up.

That's strange, because some newer parts (like the number of threads), is in.
-> could you please delete your config.ini (please make also a backup), start civ5 again, and then take a look at it again to see if the mentioned section is now there?

When I tried to run Civ5 again, the config.ini file didn't reappear. Do I need to delete it in the Recycle Bin itself?

No, no, not necessary.
This means just that the game crashes before it can read the .ini file.

Did you check the file integrity of the game via Steam? Because if the crash appears so early, it might have something to do with corrupted files.

You should also check the root folders for Civ5 and G&K and delete the .wmv files there (they might cause under some circumstances crashes while starting the game).

Oh, I don't use Steam to run my game, except for DLCs. I actually transferred the game from my CD via my laptop to my notebook.

I've tried deleting the .wmv files, but it game me the same result.

Also I only have Civ5 vanilla. I'm planning to have G&K later next month.

Problem solved. Found some files that I didn't fully include when I downloaded the DLCs. Now it works, albeit slower than usual. Thanks for the help, anyway. :)
