Can't turn off annoying messages

Is there a way to turn off the Traveller's Report and other messages? They are really annoying, and I kind of don't care what the other civ's are doing. (-:

I am not playing of Chieftain, and I turned off the "Instant Advice" and "Tutorial Help" options. Any other ideas?

Also, when I explore the map, I see the movement/battles of all the other units even with the "Show Enemy Moves" option off. It's as though the options don't mean anything. It really gets slow to play.

I dont think they can be skiped and for that show enemy thing I never understood it eather.I wouldn't mind knowing myself what it actualy does.

I think "Show Enemy Moves" has more to do with multiplayer.

No it doesn't. It existed before multiplayer.

Try holding down Shift while the AI is moving. That'll make it speed up. It'll still show the battles at normal speed though.

I concur. I have the single player version and the option is there.

There are plenty of things you cannot turn off.
I like to turn off the space ship screen when I am playing OCC.

If you want to turn off space ships altogether, though, you can choose the "Bloodlust" option (under "Customize Rules") when you're starting up your game.
