Can't win Domination Victory?

This seems like a stupid question but I can't seem to get the Domination Victory to trigger in my current game. I'm Barbarossa and am obviously still in possession of Aachen. The only two other civs left are Scythia and Egypt. I have Cairo from Egypt and, what, Ephesus from Scythia? In any case Scythia's capital is currently London since I conquered whatever their real capital was.

So that's it, right? I have my own capital and neither Egypt nor Scythia have their original capital. But the game never ends. I could wipe them out pretty easily but it's so tedious as the turns take a while. Any idea what the problem is?

You need to control all original capitals. Since London is England's original capital, you'll need that one as well.

Ok I loaded up the save, I own both Pokrovka and Ra-Kadet and the game is not ending, even though Egypt and Scythia are the only other Civs in existence.

and as has already been said, YOU need to own all of the original capitols, even if somebody else already captured them.

...That is in direct conflict with what the game tells you. If you look up Domination Victory in the Civilopedia it says that you only have to be the only civ still in possession of its original capital. It *specifically says* that a third party civ can own another civs capital and you will still win a domination victory.

I knew the Civilopedia was not very useful but I didn't expect it to flat-out lie to me. That seems regrettable, doesn't it?

Im pretty sure half the civilopedia was copy pasted from like, civ II. Ignore it.

It's bad. Not even CIV II bad because most of the victory stuff in II was true it was only the historical stuff that was 'meh'... In VI there are many errors, omissions and 'WTH' moments.

A good example...

"A district that provides this city with a source of fresh water from an adjacent River, Lake, Oasis, or Mountain. Cities that do not yet have existing fresh water receive up to 6 Housing. Cities that already have existing fresh water will instead get +2 Housing. Must be built adjacent to the City Center."
-- CIV 6 Aqueduct.

Yes, I understand what it does... but this reads like it was translated by someone who does not really understand how English goes.
