Captain's Bridge Terms 5-6

response from GA:

Hi, sorry I didn't get to you sooner,

Using the turn 87 save, I don't see what you are talking about.

I see a stack of workers that KISS has near Flaxon Musk - some are renamed, like "Bede" and "Grasshoppah", with no mention of the type of unit (ie; not "Worker - Grasshoppah"). However, you do this too with a horseman called "HM Ocyrhoe", or a hoplite called "HL Achilles". You can still tell what type of unit it is by looking at its stats (0.0.1 - worker; 2.1.2 - horseman). I'm not sure you want KISS to do.

I'd point out that HL= hoplite, and HM=Horseman, but the poinrt still stands

here you can clearly see, unit stats are still viewable in a stack

For the record, and certainly you all can attest to this: Weezer sucks.

Anything we can do to eliminate Weezer's existence will be promoted viciously from the Defense Minister's department.

WEEZER SUCKS! DEATH TO WEEZER!... this is not the official position of MIA's Ministry fo Defense, but some of us really hate weezer because they suck so much.

Regarding the EMP City warriors - could an admin answer if it would be OK to move them to Antville, then upgrade them the same turn using shift-u on some other warrior? It seems like this might be a violation of 3.1 in some sense, but I could also easily see someone doing this without even realizing it at some point in the game as it would be very easy to do unintentionally.

hey, why didn't someone say that a ruling has been made

KISS have obviously unintentionaly broken Rule 1.6 - Invalid Map Trading
Description: No team or individual is permitted to barter, gift, or otherwise trade any sort of map, whether it be a screen shot, minimap, hand drawing, or any other 'picture' of the in-game map, mini-map, or embassy screenshot before the requisite tech is discovered. Verbal/text descriptions are allowed, but coordinates are not.

Definition: A team creating screen shots, drawings, or other depictions of any part of the in-game map before the requisite tech has been discovered.

Purpose: To prevent the use of outside game elements to break the spirit of the game by allowing maps to be traded before they are allowed in-game.

Verdict: Using this exploit or any other exploit that allows any map trading before the tech is discovered through any means is a violation of this rule.

Punishment Level: Once – Orange (1-5 Turns), Repeat Offense - Red (2-20 Turns)

While it is unintentional and done in the heat of some anger motivated action (they are virtually declaring war) ... a screenie was indeed sent when it should not have been possible ... so moderators must act ... or why have rules.

Implications for us ... we get to ignore the map ... or we get to see KISS in forced period of Anarchy ... a punishment level of Orange is actually mid level ... yellow is the first.

Either way ... I think that it is important for rules to be observed ... imagine our reaction without a map? ... the sending of the map was an unfair addition to the curt message we received.

The more I think about it ... the more I feel that KISS were out of line in sending it ... and therefore should be at the very least chastised !!

EDIT ... Ignorance is no excuse ... as I recall having chatted about this subject in the past with KISS members.

I agree that this clearly breaks the rules.
No great harm was done... but it's up to the Mods.

Until they rule, I have deleted the map from my post.
(you may want to do the same Fe)

My opinion (which probably doesn't matter) is that KISS broke a rule, but realistically no harm was done. I want to win the game but outplaying them, not because they were punished for a rule violation that had no effect.

My opinion, in case the Mods read this: KISS's rule violation winds up putting us at a minor advantage, in that we can see a couple of troop locations, some build queues, and some terrain we couldn't see before. I am inclined to think that KISS are already punishing themselves by sending their enemy a map right before a war. In other words, there's really no point in forcing an anarchy penalty on KISS. The mods just might as well say "You broke the rules with that map. Don't make the same mistake again, or there will be a penalty"

Talk about Idiots [KISS, not the mods :)]!

Unless the image was doctored to misrepresent troop locations and other info....

Never even thought of a doctored map ... you have a devious mind Mr. Grimes  ... I like :D

However the mods must investigate as it is a breach of the rules !!!!

Have sent PM to RM and GA

Title - Map Action
RM and GA

Please Investigate this map that was sent to us by KISS via our g-mail ...

While it was probably sent in red haste, it is never the less a breach of the Rule 1.6

Found in the Spoiler ... Here

Discussed Captain's Table and KISS Files

Please lets us know your decision ... also important to state that it should not be mentioned that we are questioniong KISS' action and we do not want to be connected with any chastisement or action :D

Thanks

Should we now be opening nomination threads for the next round of elections?

Despite the war - the business of the Republic must go on!

in short, yes. I will not stand by idly while certain elements of our leadership try and seize power for themselves. The Proletariat will be Heard!

Meet term 6! it's exactly the same as term 5! yeah!

We're running a little late for nominations... or have our current ministers all decided that we will do without the inconvenience of elections?
