Capturing a holy city should yield a belief

I think that when I capture a holy city, I should be able to choose a belief to add to mine. If I capture all hold cities, I can get 5 - 7 more. Whaddya you guys think?

Seems like an okay civ-specific ability, but as a general ability, I'm not so sure. If you're going for a domination victory, you already have a bit of a snowball effect going on with all of those extra districts at your disposal. Giving a bonus to capturing holy cities would just add to it.

I think capturing holy cities should trigger a crusade emergency, though (eligible participants being those who follow that religion in the majority of their cities), and defending against the emergency should give you some sort of reward- +4 combat strength against units following that religion or a relic or something. But a whole belief seems a bit much.

RV is a joke, it is too easy.

Is this a joke now ? In my book this is the hardest victory, as AI focuses immensely on religious districts and units. At least, in most games. Now you probably have good tricks and orders to make it easier (and that's called learning the game, and yes at a point the game becomes too easy, Civ6 especially), but converting barely every city on the map is boring as hell anyway. (tried it on lower dif. level, ended up winning right after a conquest because eventhough i sweared not waging wars, i was so bored that i did some anyway :p )

Sure, but the ability of the AI to use that focus terrible. And there is no ‘peaceful’ RV, you are at war by default and it is just too easy.
All victories are difficult when learning the game
But sure, it’s your view.

I wouldn't say the same when I see 7 apostle embark into my territory all at once... :p (and 5 other from another religion)
That's pretty much best case scenario - hide in cities&encampment and cherry pick your fights.

Well if you are a noob playing high level I imagine you would be worried by that. If you are playing a lower level you should be easily able to fend them off.

They cannot kill a couple of missionaries inside your city which is enough to get your religion back if truly in dire straights, but if you were behind like that you would not activate your religion so early. Let them burn themselves out on each other then activate your religion when you have enough faith to defend it, any earlier and you are wanting to be beaten which can be a choice.

the hardest part about high level RV is getting a religion and surviving military attack.

Not when you are unprepared because AI gets billions religious points.

Yeah you have to get a religion early in high level, that's why you get unprepared when the apostles armies come.

War score in Europa universalis: When treaty comes, the loot is calculated with war score.
You want a believe as part of your score winning?
You should be allowed to get it. but. Because religious slots are normally set to be about four, you should not
be allowed to get five. Maybe you could swap it, at a very high cost, and revolution.

Interesting.

I was thinking about an idea earlier where it would be better to have a "Reformation" and that way being able to change some beliefs, instead of adding extra.
It would require you to be converted by another Civ, maybe get to the Reformed Church Civic, and still keep the founder and worship beliefs but are able to change the name of your religion and the two other beliefs.
This would be done after all the first religions are founded and you can still use Great Prophets at your Holy Site to Reform Religion.
I don't think these new Reformed Religions should count for a Religious Victory but could help stop others from achieving it.
