Certain Game Maps not appearing

Hi everyone,

I just installed my copy of Civilization IV complete on my newly reformatted computer, and for some reason some of the gameplay modes don't appear under the "Play Now!" (single player) option. Most notably, the "Islands" mode will not show up.

If I do a custom scenario, the Islands option does appear as a possible map.

I am running Windows 7 Professional.

I have installed the complete version, and patched Beyond the Sword up to 3.19 (by doing the 3.17 patch, and then the 3.19 patch).

I searched the forums but could not find any info on this, so I apologize if a solution is posted and I just missed it.


Any additional help would be appreciated.

there are some map scripts that don't appear under play now by design - I am not sure if islands belongs to those - are you sure it should?

Before I upgraded to Windows 7, I know that Islands was there. That's why I have found it so puzzling. The only explanation I can come up with is maybe I had an earlier patch before I upgraded to Windows 7, but I bought this fairly recently so I don't know that that is the case.

did you install the game with admin rights?
