Well we already have a Chess Club here in a crude sense of the meaning. But to really gain knowledge from each other in a more advance context we must expand from just playing each other, and try some different problems all together....

I have 5 chess books, and they are all full of problems that we could work on together.
This is in the interest of everyone getting better at the game.

On the other hand I'm not sure how to post a picture of a chess board with the problem, I'm sure I could find out, but I'd like someone here to let me in on the secret, whether it be a print screen from a certain program or what ever....Of course we could use the simple context of Algebraic expression, but a picture would keep us on the same page, and give us better understanding of what is in discussion.

I don't have a Chess Club in my town, There used to be one, but I went to the scheduled meeting and low and behold there was no one there.

Know I have about 4 people coming over to my house every Thursday, and we have made our own little ChessClub -- but I'm just proposing that we make a CFC Club -- we have the people here, and I really don't care If I lead it or not, In fact since Smash is the Mod here, he would be a better person for the job.....
It really doesn't matter who it is, as long as they can organize well, and plan for the meetings, and have something for us to learn from.... catch my drift --
PEACE

Download "Chess Helper" from here .
You can set up positions with it and save the board as an image for upload.
Here is a sample graphic:

There is always the possibility of having scheduled live games together. GenghisK, Shadowdale and I have done this already on GameColony , though I have to say I prefer the YahooGames system. There are usually more than 100 people on GameColony at any one time, whereas 2000 would be a small number playing chess on Yahoo and I've seen more than 5000 there!

The problem of course is scheduling. It's easier for us here in Europe just to play Europeans. The five hour lag to Alpha Centauri - sorry, Florida - makes it harder. And some of us can't guarantee to make schedules at all (a reason why I, for one, don't play Civ MP).

LOL, don't give away the location of my secret base!
Yes I play on Yahoo Games as Johan_Exdous,
ThunderFall and I have played on the MSN network before...but I'm like you, I enjoy the Java applets more for some reason or another.

IF anyone wants to play a real-time game with me just PM me to set up a time and date.

Beyond that I have decided to post a few problems here in the forums that we can all solve together -- I'll try to stick with the weakness I have seen in the games played here so the time taken by you all to solve them will reflect in your play.
