The Story:

By experiences with local tribes, the greeks have learned that stepping into other's affairs only leads to trouble. The Greeks are a content people, but like to improve their lands any way they can. Lately, the land has become full, and now it is time to expand.

The Goal:

To win by domination, but without causing war and interfering diplomatically.

Greecian Philosophy:

Passive, Isolationist, Perfectionists. (yes, Civ2 terminology)

The Greeks would rather abstain from any diplomatic relations, such as treaties, wars and trade. Furthermore, they wish to build monuments to their cultural heritage, rather than to train for battle.

The Rules:

War -

The Greeks can not declare war with another nation. If war is declared on us, we will only defend our people. We will not attack another nation, or their units. When declaring a peace treaty, we must not extort the attacking civ. That is, gaining gold, techs, workers, etc.

The Greeks can, however, wage an "Indirect War" by filling in spots where cities where razed, or near cities that were captured.

Diplomacy - The Greeks will not initiate any diplomatic actions, whether we initiate it, or another civ. Exceptions are when we're at war and another civ wants peace.

Culture - Obviously, this will be our strong point. We will need all the culture we can get for domination. Culture flipping is allow, however, building workers from "captured" cities is not allowed if that worker is of foreign nationality.

So, anyone for a game?

That will be a massive crutch. The AI rarely contacts you for a deal, and usually they are rather stupid (ie world map for world map + steam power  ).

btw, this isn't a sign-up post. Good luck!

We will not attack another nation, or their units.

You will find this one may be too hard to fullfill. When the AI comes at you with a SoD containing 100+ units, you have to wear them down before they get outside your city. I would suggest that you modify it so that they never attack units outside of their cultural borders. If the AI declares war and brings units inside the culture borders, it would be fair to attack those units, but not to pursue them outside of your borders.

Also, what level of culture vulture is allowed? Can cities be started behind the culture border of the AI with the purpose of flipping closer cities. Look at the RBCiv rules for an explaination of this technique.

What map type? Pangea? Islands? In between?
