While the general Hall of Fame is an ongoing competition, we are running a series of ten games under the Hall of Fame Challenge Series XXII called "The Weakest Link". Standard Hall of Fame rules (*) still apply, but your best submission meeting the settings of one of the games will be counted towards the Challenge.

(*) Please read the >> HOF rules << BEFORE playing!
(*) Games must be played using the >> BUFFY MOD 3.19.005 <<
(*) Games to be submitted via the >> Civ IV Hall of Fame Website <<
(*) New players, please >> register << using your CFC forum name

Settings:

  • Victory Condition: Cultural (though all victory conditions must be enabled)
  • Difficulty: Warlord
  • Starting Era: Ancient
  • Map Size: Standard
  • Speed: Any
  • Map Type: Rain Forest
  • Required: No Tribal Villages, No Random Events
  • Civ: Khmer (Suryavarman)
  • Opponents: Must include Arabia (Saladin), Aztec (Montezuma), Celt (Boudica), Inca (Huayna Capac), Korea (Wang Kon), Native America (Sitting Bull)
  • Version: 3.19.005
  • Date: 1st July to 28th December 2020
Must not play as Inca.
The earliest finish date wins, with score as a tiebreaker.

Thanks for pointing that out, it's sorting by turn order not date - obviously t187 out of 330 is slower than t196 out of 500!

I'll see what I can do to fix.

I might have to have another run at this one. ;)
Quick speed "should" be the fastest if you can finesse your way through military expansion.
The cheaper legendary culture and improved great person starvation go a long way.

Oh, no, don't bother, it really isn't necessary!

Interesting, I barely ever play anything other than normal speed so wouldn't know. ;)

I would assume that marathon speed gives the best results here.
Early conquest is easier and workers can work more efficient. Snowballing the result.

Normally not an issue, but with Any speed it can be. The below is also stated, though, so I would think earlier date is most fair (even if Marathon is kinda broken and offers great advantages for people going that route).
