Cheats for BtS?

I downloaded the steam version of BtS, and I've been playing it for a few hours now. However, as good as my game seemed to go, the A.I has mysteriously outsmarted me completely, and I am quite on the verge of being annhilated. I hate losing, and when push comes to shove, I'd usually just cheat my way back to status Quo.

Not this time, though! The old way of cheating as I did in civ4 and warlords is rather impossible with the steam version, as there simply is no civ4config file to edit anymore. I've looked through the entire steam directory, and if the file is indeed there, I'm either too blind, or too stupid to see it.

Any thoughts on how you activate the console and/or cheats in BtS?

Yep, that's it.. While playing the game, press ESC to bring up the options menu and select 'Open Worldbuilder'.. There you can add units, give them promotions at your hearts desire and you can even delete enemy units by right clicking on them (as long as you have the 'unit selector' icon activated)..

It takes a little practice, but the WorldBuilder is a great tool for map editing and, if you want to, a great tool for cheating (though it does take away much of the fun in the game).. Losing a game can actually be a lot of fun too! I had some great fun being beaten senseless by Montezuma in the past! :D

The config file that you need to edit has been relocated to the Beyond The Sword folder in your Civ4 folder, same/similar name as the old one, just re-edit the file and away you go. :)

(I've got BtS on CD so I don't know if there is much difference between Steam and CD, however I do know that the cheats still work, all you gotta do is edit the file.

Thanks a bunch. Using worldbuilder didn't occur to me at all!

e; I should probably add that there is absolutely no INI files in the steam version of the game, besides the ones used to (I assume) load up the other mods.
