Cheats not working

Hi Guys, I've been playin Civ for a while now and wanted to explore the cheats. Problem is, none of them work on Civilization for Windows version 1.2. Anyone know why?

because the window's game is a shadow of the original game: no cheats, can't buy city improvments or units, path finding is screwed, graphics are worse and only the save game option was improved.

So what version do you recommend?

Get Civ for DOS. I would recommend ver 1 or if you can't get that then 2. Most likely if you buy it these days you will get 4 or 5, but they are all good. Just look for Civ for DOS and you can't go wrong.

Because it is a great game. For one: it has top-down graphics.. it also has some very nice old-school graphics (at least the SNES version.) And the gameplay is just great.. very addictive.
