I don't know if there are any good user cheats available, but if you're playing the AI - it cheats like hell.

What an excellent and purposeful post.
OP: if you look for information on debug mode, you might be able to do something with that. Or you could create a scenario where you start with a big pile of money (should be able to set that up to play with random map settings etc. so the only difference is you being rich)

I don't know of any real cheats that give you lots of money. There are however a few exploits which can be used to generate lots and lots of cash. 
So, for example you could gift the chieftain AI an amount of gpt that far exceeds what you can afford, like 999 999gpt, and then you go and take all their cities which would mean you 'liberate' millions of gold. (But I think that is only possible in C3 on Chieftain)

Why wouldn't my reply be purposeful?
A noob should know that the AI knows where all the resources are before they've researched the tech that tells us where they are and sends settlers there beyond their boundaries or that the AI knows where your least defended city is during war (or peace) and that they will target that city or that the AI knows where every spot of unsettled land is regardless of it's showing up on their maps or within their sight or that the AI knows what your arsenal is comprised of regardless of it's spies or lack thereof or that the AI knows that you're 1 turn or 10 turns to reaching a tech and will gladly trade it with you when you're 1 turn away but will not if you're 2 turns away or that the AI knows that you have a single archer standing on a grass tile out of visible sight and will send a knight over to kill it though you wouldn't have known that if you were them.
It's useful info if you're playing against the all-knowing AI. I wonder if this is noob info to you also.
There's been enough discussion about the AI cheating, and we're not rehashing it in this thread.

Because you didn't say any of that. Like if I started a thread "Help, can't get a diplo win", and all anyone said in that thread was "Diplo wins are possible". The answer isn't wrong, but it's still not purposeful.

Isn't there a trainer program that gives you like 1 million in gold?
Yeah, unless you make a scenario in Conquests and turn debug mode on. But other than that, you're right.

just a side note... if you play hotseat multiplayer games, and you trade your max gold over and over and over and over as many times as you want to one civ in one turn, when the civ you traded it too goes, they'll get that lump sum as many times as you sent it, basically giving you infinite gold.... just something I found
