While these wonders obviously give you benefits when another country is attacking you do they also serve as attack modifiers for AI opponents? In other words if everything being equal (IE- same civ with same diplomatic relations, number of troops, same promotions, etc) other than having or not having either/both of those wonders does the AI take into account a civ having those wonders when attack decisions are made? Do they serve as attack deterrents by the enemy AI?

the SoZ isn't much use on higher levels as the Ai gets huge bonus on war wearniess. The biggest reason to built the SoZ isn't to use it gainst the AI, it is to prevant it form being use aginst you and also the extra 8 turns on Golden Age is also a huge bonus.

What? Eight turns on a golden age? Why have I never heard of this before?

Perhaps you meant the MoM?

there is a random event that grants golden age if you build coliseums (and own the statue) but i dont think that was intended. MoM adds 8 turns golden age only on marathon, so i also doubt it.

One word: culture.

build SOZ is the cheapest way to be a friendly neibourhood iron/gold stealer

They both add minimal power but as mentioned that is close to useless. The effects are nice to deny, however, and SoZ can press culture though it comes a bit late to get it such that it doubles easily.
