Chinese Crossbow

Hi,

I am getting decimated by these hectic chinese crossbow men.
My longswords are not even a match for these guys even though they are more advanced.

What unit is good against these guys?
I even got gunpowder and built some musketeers expected they would fare well against these crossbows but they are getting decimated.

Alongside that, by the time you got those Musketeers, the Chu-Ko-Nus prolly also got a bunch of promotions as well that kinda totally pwned you.

And for the record, Musketmen are actually weaker than Longswordsmen. Their advantage is that they are cheaper and don't require any special resources.

Another idea is to absurd the pathetic combat AI, run away on the sight of a Chu-Ko-Nu and wait for the AI to rush their Chu-Ko-Nu at your longswordsmen. That always work for me.

same as reallife - lets ambush crossbowmen instead of line them in open.

AFAIK, CKN doesn't have indirect fire, which means you can use terrain to block their shooting.

Still, mounted unit is still your best bet.

Mounted are the best b/c you can attack and the run away out of range. Moreso with Keshik and Companion Cavalry since they get 5 moves.
