Christian v. Catholic

Thanks for the back-up.

There is only one Knowltok, but my work computer keeps eating my cookies and won't let me log in. Thus every once in a while I need to log in with a new account and have the old ones deleted. Eventually I'll have to drop this one and log in as knowltok. Then it will go. It's a pain in the ass, but highlights my dedication to the site that I am willing to triumph against adversity to post here. (or something like that);)

To a bystander like me, this thread isn't very useful anymore.

Maybe if this thread was Christianity vs Catholicism.

Some people do this, some dont.

Not very useful & too vauge.

Please remake if we're to learn anything,

Thanks.

Sorry Mr. Z28, but I have learned quite a bit from this thread. I suspect that others have as well. I had a question, asked it, and then recieved answers. If the thread has no use to you, feel free not to visit it and post in it. If you have something that you wish to learn that will be better adressed in a different thread, by all means make one.

Have a nice day.:)

That wasn't exactly the response I was hoping for !

of course we all learnt something from it, what I mean is that there will be huge differences in the way people practise the same religion. Not surprising considering the many many difference cultures involved.

I still feel that a straight up factual Christianity vs Catholicism thread would be clearer cut & carry less cultural baggage than a Christian v. Catholic thread.

Salute !

Perhaps so, but I am not qualified to start such a thread from an informational point of view, and don't have the questions or interest that you seem to be showing. I am serious when I suggest that if there is something you want to know, start a thread and ask the question. That is what I did, and I had my question answered.

:)

I don't think you have paid much attention to the thread. Catholics are Christians, Protestants are Christians. Jews and Muslims (who share part of the Christian set of Holy books) are not Christians.

Similarly Muslims are divided into Sunni and Shi'ite because of dispute of whether all four of the original caliphs were the successors to Mohammed. Sunni can be further divided into other groups like Wahhabi and Deobandi.

But if you mean the thread has degenerated somewhat because some people felt offended, then you are right. Then again, if someone said something wrong about your religion you'd react in the same way.
