I thought it was 2.

I'm getting hit from 3 tiles away (not from unit).

Civlopedia says 2 too.

City range in CBP changes with technologies.

You start with 1, then 2, then indirect fire, then 3 (at artillery).

I believe that it's written in unified changelog.

How can I find it?

I searched for city attack, city defence, city range.

How do you guys find these things lol?

It's really straight forward. Before you research Catapult, range is 1 after that it is 2, when you research Mortals you get indirect fire bonus and when you finally get get to Artillery you get range of 3 tiles.

As to where you can find this info:

http://www.picknmixmods.com/mods/67721091-c296-4ab7-a1da-e9edbf97d779/mod.html

Also you should check unified changelog for all incorporated dll mods and find what some of them do individually.

I did...

But I can't just read the whole thing, it's like 27 pages long, and I only want to find one specific info.

I used the search function but it didn't come up with anything, that's why I asked lol

You guys probably know because it was discussed before and during it's implementation so you didn't ever have to "look it up".

That's the difficulty I'm having as a new player. I'm expected to know things I wasn't around for lol

It's like on second page. The list of those mods and one of them is Global - City Bombard Range which was obvious answer to your question.

Word of advice. When I can't find out about something in this mod from reading or it's not explained in great detail, I learn about it by trial and error.

Though, I partly agree with last part of your post.

On an other side it's not chocking when people ask on forum if the question is not stupid of the response can be found with one single research, it's also one of a community role :)

So, for people who don't understand something here is the procedure :
  • First at all, read all the civilopedia, it's not so long, some hundred pages, but you can use search.
  • Second, read all the unified changelog, you can search too.
  • Third, read the doc of all integrated integrated mods.

If you don't find after all that, come back next week and ask here :)

Don't forget the mod is in dev and it's impossible to maintain a complet doc while dev, it would be the job for at least one man and I don't think the team is so big.

I didn't know to search for "city bombard range" lol

That's what I mean though, you already have knowledge of where it would be found.

The second page thing is a non-factor, because that assumes that I have to read from the beginning to the end to find it.

Well how did you look for (Never mind you were searching for "city attack range") ? Because you were looking for city bombard range after all.In any case be patient, since mod is in constant progress still.Once things settle down for real, it will be much easier to document mod.

If you already know the answer, it takes you 2 seconds to respond. Also telling him where he can find info by himself in the future is fine, but there's nothing wrong with him asking a question.

Agreed, he should read the changelog, but there is no reason to be dismissive of him just because of a simple question.
