City locations

We just finished a settler and he is on his way to Site 5 in the south. Next settler is due in 4 turns but we have yet to decide on a home for him. These are the locations we have previously selected as desirable, but feel free to reevaluate and make new selections.

I'd say we go for Beta. With a lighthouse those freshwater squares will give us 3f2c. Combine that with the clams and sheep and we have a city with lots of food and commerce and limited distance maintenance which is exactly what we need at the moment.

I agree, Beta has a lot of potential for growth and will get a lot of commerce in the process, it would make a good settlement, but we'll need to make sure that it has adequate access to workers wo can improve the production of the city.

I also like Beta for being able to sail our ships through the massive lake.

Site 2 for me.

That lake makes it pretty hard to defend (although that is really the least of our concerns right now.) Site 2 seems to have all the other advantages, along with grassland and hill tiles. It also has a road already. Maintenance out there is certainly higher though, but I think we are still planning on Forbidden Palace in Glassport or Polynesia.
