City names mod

Hm....true, its hard to define the correct Civ if the founding nation is not in the game. A solution could be improved Minor Nations. We could rename the 'Barbarians' to 'Minor Nations' or 'Indipendants', give them a new flag, a big list of important cities and maybe a lower difficulty.

I don't really know how that could be done without making them essentially new civs, and there's problems with that. Ideas?

In the CivilizationsInfos.xml are the city lists for all civs and for the barbarians. Changing the barbarian list would bring these cities in the game.
There is one xml.files that dermins the difficulty level for the barbarian, but I can't remember which file that was.:(

Another option is to raise the starting pop of all cities. If we set this parameter to 2 the barbarian cities would have a biger chance to survive. This would make the game faster, but it could be balanced with slower movement for settlers.:crazyeye:

Yeah, I know about the barbarian city list, I was gonna head into that eventually, though I was confused by fact that there are two barbarian city lists. It'll cause some confusion, though. For example, Florence should be in the game, but should it be Roman or Barbarian?

Well, Wiki says that Etrusciams lived in that area and the Romans found or name a village Florentia. So I would gave Florence to the Romans.

The Romans are really troblemakers: most of italy which has the role as their homeland in the Empire, were mostly conquered, and on the other hand they found a lot of cities in England and Germany.

Yes, and to make things worse the Romans did found some cities that are capitals nowadays, i.e. Londinium/London - UK, Vindobona/Wien - Austria, Skupi/Skopje - Macedonia etc. ;)
