Hi there! Just registered to report something I just noticed:

I was playing as American, my eastern neighbour was Louis of the French. after I've vanquished the Incas and I was leaning back and watching my now much bigger empire I noticed a little city called "San Francisco". I was quite confused, cause I was pretty sure I've never founded that one. Also I couldn't remember a war with Louis and no cultural turnover had occurred...well, later on I saw more french cities using american names and in the replay after the game I noticed that Louis had founded 5 of those: Chicago, Seattle, Frisco, L.A., and Portland. In the meantime I founded Houston.

I then checked the city names-list in the Assets folder. France only has 21 city names and Louis had used them all. So the game seems to start go to the first available city name, regardless of the Civ or if that Civ is already part of the running game! (and America is the first listed Civ in CIV4CivilizationInfo.xml) Instead of going with "New Paris" and later even "Paris 2" it's this awkward solution.

In short: The game uses city names of other civs after all the names of the own civ have been used. But it does NOT check, if that Civ is part of the game. There are no more "New" and "2" cities.

And I don't think that that's a good solution. :crazyeye:
Hope this hasn't been posted before.

Oh: ver 1.52

In the next patch the extra names will be random, so not always from America first.
