Has anyone seen this before?

Notice how the city only needs 4 food to grow and will get 5 on the interturn. It should go to size 7, spit out the settler and drop back to size 5.
Here's what it actually does.

Notice the settler in the garrison at the bottom of the pic.

:aargh:  Anyone have any ideas why it does this or is this just a very annoying bug? :wallbash:

think it's a bug. it seems to work out the production before growth. and then it not understand multiple changes in city size @ once.

Yeah, it's got to be a bug.
All other cities work properly. Thank God my 2 cities that are 2 turn worker factories don't do this crap.

It happened to me in GOTM37. It calculates growth first, making you hit the top of six. Then, the settler gets built, and you end up with a full food box and no growth.

if it works like a computer program, it will count the food first, then production. (computers can't do 2 things at once)

Just build an Aquaduct and it will work "right." ;)

Sheesh...I can't believe I didn't see that for myself. :o
Here I was thinking it was a bug.

Thanks guys.

Yes, Trip is right. It tries to grow before the settler is produced (or so it appears :hmm:), goes to full food but can't grow because of the lack of an aquaduct, and then produces the settler.

In order for a pump to function when growing from size 6 it either needs an Aquaduct or has to be on a river. In these cities I usually have the Settler or Worker finish a turn before it WOULD grow to size 7... so a 2-turn Worker Pump would go from size 5.5 to size 6.5, when it finishes the Worker (with the 0.5 meaning half the Granary-food box is filled).
