City ranged attack - no notification!

I frequently miss the ability to use a city's ranged attack, especially if I'm being attacked in more than one place. Previous versions of Civ warned you that a city strike was possible.

*version, only Civ 5 had a city ranged attack.

Agreed that it would be great to have the notification back though.

This would be very, very welcome. And on top of that, if you click on the notification, you should automatically have the ranged attack selected. Sometimes it needs multiple clicks when you have a garrisoned unit until you select it manually or need to zoom in first. This is one of my biggest UI complaints after playing the game for a long time.

Yeah this is irritating. I assume it's a bug. The number of times I've ended a turn without having bombarded is crazy. It definitely should be skippable, but it certainly should remind you.

You almost wonder if they'd fix it for the humans if the AI would more consistently use the city ranged attack as well. I doubt there's any real connection, but both bugs (I consider them bugs) are annoying.

I actually prefer the way it is now. Previous versions of civ had all kinds of bugs with when city attacks are available and I found the audio cue and the screen focus to be annoying. Maybe some sort of soft notification or enabling an option to be warned would be fine.

Few questions.

1. Why are you talking about "previous versions" when only Civ V had it? Or did I miss something in IV?
2. I can't remember Civ V focusing the screen, though it's been a while that I played it. Sure it's not only focusing the screen when you click on the notification?
3. Same applies for audio cue.

It depends what you consider a version. Civ V and VI are the only "main-line" games with city bombardment, but Beyond Earth had it as well (like most of V's mechanics).
