City sizes and the amount they're worth

What about the Vatican City? Last time I checked it had 804 citizens. That's 0.0804 of a civ person. So it's probably just about the guy's ear. OR how about this one. There is a small village near where I live. 90% of it is a golf course, named after the village, Tavistock. The other 10% belongs to poeple with a lot of $$$ and mansions, about 20 of them. That's a size .002 city. No improvements, either. Just, a couple of big houses and a... golf course.

The correct formula for determining population of a city is as follows:

Population = 10,000 * X((X+1)/2) where 'X' is the City Size.

Your first list should be added to the War Academy or reference section of the site! It's some pretty useful info.

Thanks Magnus for the formula. Where did you find it?

LOL R,

Alegebra.

I was seeing a pattern in the numbers and set to work on it. A '1' city is 10K, a '2' city is 30K (10K + 20K) a '3' city is 60K (10K + 20K + 30K) etc., so I found a formula that would produce that result, tested it and found it valid.

Interesting stuff!

But I still think they should make the pop regular, like 1 citizen = 10,000 people. I hate how when you build a settler from a size 8 city, and you lose 60k, but when you build settlers from a size 2 city, you only lose 20k. It really damages your powergraph!
