CIV 1 graphics on CIV2/CIV3?

Don't know if this is the right forum...but I'll try!

I really really LOVE playing CIV1/CIVNET because it's so simple, so addictive and yet so complex and, well...it's the one game I keep on returning to. I'v tried CIV2 and CIV3 as well...but the thing I hate about it is the graphics!

Yes I know it looks better...but I just can't stand the bloody 3D animated figures running around, and I can't get used to the movements either. I'd love to get into the game itself though - but the graphics is such an enormous turn-off.

That's why I wonder if there are any ways - any ways at all - to get the old, simple, extremely playable top-view, CIV1 graphics on CIV2/CIV3? Hacks, modifications, upgrades, whatever...if there is a way, I'd love to know how!

you may join that discussion there...?

if you think about it
you will realize
that some units will be missing, some graphics too
and this work will take days and weeks
for non-pro's to draw that graphics sheet (= looking good/professional)
additional
the situation of the graphics copyrights and all that law sh*t
is unsolved
so nobody can even release it just here 'at forum'...

it would be some kind of graphics
that would just be PM'd from somebody to someone
and at city screens etc. everything will stay look like Civ2 or Civ3

maybe it's better to ask for those graphics in the civ.2 forums here -

if someone has those civ1 graphics for civ2
i would presume a civ.2 player...
