Was on the site a few years ago and had no problem finding past GOTM's and playing them. Now I can't even find past games let alone the main page that shows all the basic rules and info. For instance is there any real difference between a mod and a Scenario?

As you see I am a newbie so any threads that post the basics for the GOTM's would be appreciated. Also why can't I find past games. Last time on the main site for GOTM's it had lists of all past games on each side of the page?

Thanks for any help

I also can't find a way to get to the GOTM home page through the forum index. A kind GOTM player gave me this link to the home page.

And just to add to Scratcher's reply, in case the instructions at the top of the linked page aren't clear enough: if you want to DL the starts for Completed (closed) GotMs, use the pull-down menu at the lower left (Civ3)/right (Civ4) to select the game you want, then click the 'Game details' button, which will take you to the 'description' page for that specific game, including the links to the 4000 BC savefiles. For older Conquest/PtW GotMs, the 'Open Class' game is the standard version (compared to the Open-Class start, the Conquests- and Predator-Class starts have an added bonus and handicap, respectively, for the human player).

Yep that is the way I remember the sites... Thanks to the moderator for moving me to right place to post my questions and thanks for the quick responses. Have asked questions twice in here and have had great responses.

Finally I love playing scenarios.... especially on world maps, for instance the Tut world maps in Civ 3. Someone told me Rhyn's map is a good one to play on. Any links to his download or any suggested scenarios a person thinks I might like would be greatly appreciated.

Same with Civ 4's.....any suggested games would be appreciated. Mostly just looking for some new experiences.

Thanks again

For Civ3, there are lots of great scenarios to be found in the Completed Scenarios sub-forum. I assume, there is a similar forum for Civ4, but I'm not really familiar with Civ4.

Instead of going through so many topics though, it is probably easier to go through the Download section and go under Civ3 Downloads and go to the category you want. If you want a modded game without a map -> Modpacks (not graphic modpacks). If you want a map, but mostly default game rules -> Pre-made Maps. If you want modified game with a specific map -> Completed Scenarios. There is alot of maps relating to the entire world, or specific areas like Hawaii, Europe, Australia etc. You can find those here: https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/categories/civ3-pre-made-maps.65/ . Most things are in the download database and it is easier to navigate I think, but some things especially older files may not be, or some may have a dead link, and the topic may actually have a link for it.
