Civ 3 and copy protection.

Is there a version of Civ 3 that includes Conquests that does not have SecuRom or other intrusive copy protection?

Or is the version of SecuRom that Complete uses not a problem?
I know some versions can cause problems with CD/DVD burning applications as well as other performance problems.

I don't mind a CD check.

All the disc versions have SafeDisc (old versions) or SecuRom (newer versions).

You may be better off with one of the downloaded versions if you want to avoid SecuRom.
