Civ 3 Complete replaces vanilla?

I removed my vanilla Civ 3 to install Complete. I loaded my vanilla saved game. At the end of turn, Civ 3 quits completely. I had patched to ver 1.29. New games seem to work fine. Is there some way to designate a vanilla game or start a vanilla game?

I would think that any 1.29F saves should work fine in C3C, I have loaded them and played them. It is a bit straange as the game says SoZ is there, but it is not and so forth.

Complete has the 1.29f for C3 and 1.27F for PTW. so all of those should be fine. I would expect that you have an entry on the start menu for each of the three versions. C3, PTW and C3C.

You may see infrogrames for C3 and Atari for the other two, that is how I have it, but I do not have complete.

No, the only start menu item you get is 'Complete' (read Conquests) If you want Vanilla or PTW, you have to go into the directory where complete is installed and launch them manually. Civilization3.exe (vanilla) is located in the top-level 'Civilization III Complete' folder. Civilization3X.exe (PTW) is located in the 'civ3PTW' folder. I just made desktop icons for each of these so I can select my version.
