civ 3 conquests shutting off

Hi there

i am playing Civ 3 conquests fully patched, and its been working fine, and now it will play for awhile, and then just shut off, no warning nothing. And its a brand new laptop, and like I said it had been working fine up until a cpl days ago, but now it just shuts off... totally random. And yes, i have patched updated and made things supposedly all hunkey dorey.

But its getting annoying.

I'd try reinstalling.

Does this happen with just the current game, or more than the current? If it hasn't happened outside of the current, try starting a new game, see if it still happens.

it happens with all games, I can start a new one and it will work fine for a bit and then go haywire. Now should I reinstall just conquests or the whole thing?

ok i tried a total uninstall/ reinstall, reboot and it just got worse. I have no idea whats causing the conflict. Anyone got a clue? Its a Dell inspirion 2200 laptop. And yes i understand that it being a dell might be the problem. But hey the laptop was a gift. And it had been working just fine till I re installed my touch pad drivers. I turned them off and still no fix. Could audio drivers be the problem?
