Civ 3 in Windows

Is there an option to make Civ 3 run in a Window? I am generally doing multiple things at one time on my computer and this game probably has the worst interface for that that I've seen in a long time. Alt-Tab only works when something else is already open and even then the menu bar at the bottom often does not come up. What gives? You'd think something like that would be a really obvious feature in such a slow paced, automatically paused all the time game.... Right now, I'm about to quit out of Civ so I can open a calculator, then reopen Civ.

Hit CTRL+ESC
It'll bring up the start menu and let you multi-task. It's not efficient, but it is effective.

"Windows Key + D" minimized everything and brings you straight to the desktop.

Or if you have the windows key on your keyboard, you can see your task bar.
