Installation creates shortcuts in start menu

it did not make any shortcuts when i installed it.

If you're running Vista or Windows 7, the shortcuts are accessed through the Games manager. Click the Start button then look at the right half of the Start Menu. There should be a "Games" entry. Clicking that will bring up the Games Manager from which you can start whichever version of CIV you want to play.

Hi all. this version of Civ has just yesterday brought me back into the fold and I have been wondering this: which version best to play? By which I mean if I play BTS do I get to use Warlords or at least any features from that game? Or are all versions of the game to be taken individually? I have to say I am leaning towards BTS more than anything else
BtS includes all the features of the core game and of Warlords (with some tweaks) plus its own features.

Thanks for that advice - I was hoping that would be the case but was not at all sure.
I got Civ4 complete for chistmas. My friend got civ4 vanilla not that long after it came out. Can we use the PBEM feature? Does he need to download a patch or something for his game before we can play or is Civ4 complete backwards compadible?

complete has Vanilla patched to 1.74 - so as long as your friend has his game also patched to 1.74 there should be no problem.
