So from what I've seen, Civ 4: Complete edition is not sold in the United States. However, I have found the Australian version sold as an import at an online game store. I'm assuming there would be no difference between an Australian and US version of Civ 4, however I thought I might check here first before I buy it.
Also, if someone at Firaxis is reading this, I would invite any explanation for why the U.S. is unworthy of a complete edition, while Australia is seen as marketing gold. To me, it seems like Firaxis is completely asleep at the wheel. It shakes my confidence in their reputation.

Gold Edition = CivIV + Warlords
Complete = CivIV + Warlords + BTS

This is based on the two links provided.

i think civ 4 complete will be released in the U.S sometime in the summer of next year. i dont know when

....and after all that, still no answer to my question.
Although we have successfully taught a total n00b the difference between the words "gold" and "complete", I'm still curious if anyone think of any reason why the import would be different, or wouldn't work in the United States? Aside from a few words being spelled incorrectly (colour, humour, etc) I can't think of anything that would make the UK version any different. As far as I know, game titles have no region codes like DVDs. But again, I'm unsure.

So, if anyone knows, that would be great.

You failed in that regard. I fail to see the difference between these two enigmatic sesquipedalians. Please teach me my lesson again.

In other news, you're probably better off importing it, but unless you want to play the scenarios included with Warlords, you can get away with buying just the original and Beyond the Sword. BTS includes all other expansion features.
