Hi, me and my friends have had this problem since we downloaded civ 5 from steam the night it was released.

We hoped that patches would fix the many bugs (and they fixed a lot of problems) but Civ 5 still crashes after a time period of playing. This has caused everyone but me to just quit civ 5 compleatly.

So, I would start a game play and enjoy it for a long while then suddenly tiles will turn black or yellow. and a few turns after this happens the sreen goes black tells me that "civilization 5 is not responding" and then closes the game. In this time before the game crashing it will not let me save the game. When I click save it just does nothing.

I have a fairly ok computer and so have my friends, my pc can support games like WoW and Shogun II. I turned all the graphics on the game down to the lowest but it seems to have made no difference whatsoever leading me to believe that it is not graphics related.

Please help ):

One question: Are you using Windows XP with he /3GB switch?

This is because the game tries to use more memory than the system can handle, thus it leads to unresponsive behaviour, and later it crashes, usually with a BSOD. (I used to have that trouble).

If not, check if your system is not overheating or something of the like, also a DXdiag could also help.
