Civ 5 crashing with many units and cities

I am using the Yet not another earth mod for a map even larger than huge, I have about 60 cities and I am playing with 7 other AI's

My computer is a Apple mac pro, running windows 7 in bootcamp.

Video card: ati radeon 1gb 5770
Ram: 6gb
Cpu: Xeon quad core with 8 processors threads showing up under alt ctrl delte

I am playing it with DX9

I also disabled DEP via this method as well which helped up to about turn 960:

I did it because this was the error message I got in event viewer.

i really want to keep playing is there anything I can do. I have all the latest drivers for everything. Just to mention I am running about 10 mods and checked as much as possible to make sure they didnt interfere with each other.
 
What mods are you running? If you run about ten of then, try to disable all of them and see if the error occurs then. If not, enable one more and repeat.

This is of course a mountain of work, but you make it hard to help you when you use mods and bootcamp and such...
 
Thanks guys for the response. I am going to try running it without the mods and then turn them on one by one.

But yes I feel ripped off. Even without the yet another earth map mod it froze. I wish I could get my money back.

The game freezing might very well be a memory management issue. It might still get fixed.
