So, I'm new to Civ 5, but I used SDK to make my own custom map. I basically followed the instructions here:
http://www.pcgamer.com/2010/10/13/how-to-make-a-map-in-civilization-v/
I went into ModBuddy and created a new project and opened the top menu button and clicked 'Build Civ 5 Map Pack 1' (should I have built a "solution"?...I have no idea what a "solution" is).
I then started the game. I found my mod and enabled it. However, my map doesn't show up when I go to set up a game under Mods or normal single player. It doesn't even appear in the advanced set up options.
Any help is appreciated!

So I got it to work. For anyone else having this problem, this is how I figured it out:
when I made my map in World Builder, I didn't start from scratch, I used a downloaded map as a template. Even though I renamed the map and saved it in a different place, in the game it showed up in the list under the old name. I don't know how to change the name for how it appears in the map list in the game.

In Worldbuilder, one of the buttons along the top will let you define a map title and description; that's probably what it is using. Sorry for the vagueness, but I can't check WB at the moment.
