Civ 5 Lags after playing for a while

I have read some post, but have gotten lost reading them on if there is a fix for the problem. Basically whenever I load my game I am fine and there is no lag, but as the game progress the lag gets slow. It will sometimes take 10 sec to switch to another unit. I have played around with the graphic settings and that doesnt seem to do much. I am running an i7 bloomberg with a Above average video card.

I have the same problem. I have tried every possible solution listed on the forum, but so far no luck. I have given up playing the game for now. I figure I'll give it another try after the next full patch. Hopefully they will fix it then.

Did the game work just fine up until 2 weeks ago, or has it been that way since you purchased the game?

Mine worked fine before G&K.

Have you tried this:

1. Open up your config.ini
2. Look for the following line: EnableGameCoreThreading = 1
3. Change it to: EnableGameCoreThreading = 0

Yes I tried it, but it did not work.

Hate to say this, but Firaxis is going to have to keep playing with the code until they can figure out what went wrong. I doubt that people's computers just all of a sudden developed issues. I just think that some configurations are not handling the coding very well. That is Firaxis responsibility to solve, unfortunetly some of us will have to wait until they do.

I hope they figure it out. In the mean time I reinstalled Civ 3.....and I have really been enjoying it. It was the first civ game I ever played. It has a nostalgic apeal for me.

Same problem here... unbearably slow since the patch right before G&K... sigh
