Civ 6 Deity after patch

Well, if neighbors are becoming violent, then you need to secure your borders better. No point in having tourism when you can't guarantee the safety of your tourists.

And it's actually good to have a scientific edge, even for a Cultural Victory. It translates to earlier Radio, Steel and Computers, which means much more tourism.

Turn 210 sounds pretty late to still be fighting neighbors on your starting continent. I'm curious when you started your rush against Norway and what is your highest military tech at turn 210? How many cities do you have at turn 210 and how many of them have monuments and campus with library + university?

Rush against Norway was with bows and clubs. Clubs upgraded to swordsmen for the last city and I had a catapult en route but it wasn't needed.

At 210 I was at 7 cities. Only 4 with campus and none with unis. Production was awful which didn't help matters. Had full Theatre Districts up in all of them though... :)

Cities insta-healing walls usually does not happen during wartime in my experience. Or if it can happen during wartime, it must take a really, really long time to trigger. I've never seen it. I've seen walls insta-heal in City-States that I make peace with, well after the peace deal.

I'd never seen this before. Two cats pounded the city walls to what I thought was zero and were about to pound the citizenry on their next shot then suddenly the walls were back. I'd had to go through jungle to get there so backing out quickly wasn't happening and they got shredded. I wish we could use builders to clear land outside our borders like in CiV...

The part where you give up fighting France (a militarily superior opponent from the sounds of it) and switch to infrastructure is where you lost this game. You have to know they're coming back. And with greater numbers.

I knew they'd be back and had crossbows ready for them. I gave up more because I saw their tourism lead was crazy stupid. :)

The point is that with the latest patch, science became more important again. More important than production now?

I know dirt and Civ are factors but at what point in your Deity games are you typically taking the science lead post-patch?

First time I saw this happen. The AI I was war with moved Crossbowmen onto hills on his territory and fired at the same turn. They are using Logistics!

In my past two games ... Pump units NONSTOP and build encampments in every city. Working out well for me so far.
At some point you have to not be pumping out units to build the encampment. Do you do that ASAP or at a certain point in the city's growth? Do you wait for the +30 policy card? Do you build barracks/stables or are the encampments only for the GGPs?

Eurekas and GPP, you really only need 1
