Not sure if this is where I'm supposed to post this but I'm having the black screen of death every time I try to play Civilization 3 Vanilla patched. It gets to that black screen and just won't do anything after that. Since I've reinstalled the thing a dozen times already I don't think I can fix it so I was wondering since I've been wanting to get Civ 4 for some time is the Civilization 3 on Civ Chronicles pre-patched?

You should post this in the technical support forum. Do you get an error message after starting Civ 3?
About two weeks ago this happened and I posted on the technical forum. Nobody responded but I eventually got it to work again through trial and error... basically I kept reinstalling the thing until it worked. I've done it about 10 times today (thank God I'm off and have time to waste) but it hasn't worked yet.
There's no error message, it just goes to the black loading screen and stalls there. Occasionally when I reinstall it it won't even get to the black screen it'll just bring the Civ 3 title up then nothing.
It worked fine for weeks at a time patched so I'm not sure what's been going on.

Civ3 in Chronicles is actually Civ3 Complete, so yes, it is fully patched.
