Civ Extinction Crash

I've noticed a particulary annoying bug that causes the game to occasionally crash whenever I capture or raze another Civ's last remaining city. This bug only seems to affect the game after the patch has been applied. Anyone else have this problem?
 
Odd. I don't know if it is my system or a common bug. The problem only occurs when running a patched Civ III. I went back to the original version and had no further issues, but since you can't really play the game properly on Mac OS X without the patch (right-clicking, etc.) I have to deal with the occasional crashes. Even when I go back to an autosave and repeat my moves, it happens again. I have to change my moves so that the game is sent down a different path and keep my fingers crossed that it won't happen again.

If you have a 100% reproducible crash, e-mail the saved game to me at bradman@pobox.com along with precise details on how to reproduce it and we'll take a look.

i had similar probs under 1.17 where i had to change the path also, but never specifically as if i razed a civ or so...
 
Perhaps both problems stem from the same conflict which can be triggered by multiple sets of variables. I'll send a saved game as soon as I can get one and maybe we'll find out then.

Annoying isn't it? Its as though the opposing Civ's AI takes one final measure to prevent their destruction, and its even more effective than launching nukes :)
