Crash report on opening the game

No, at all - support are very contactive - they send me this driver today in the morning saying that they are not going support iGPU (7840u+780M), whyle i said that I run yesterday MS FlightSimulator 2024, CyberPank 2077, Black Myth: Wukong at ULTIMATE and them were running. I have occasionally have succeed to run even huge final save of Cov 7 twice with more that 35Gb of RAM and 10+gb of vram allocated - small saves or starting game works with some low settings).

So, driver is useless for me. I even tryed huge save with the slowest settings and 1280x720 res with very small allocated gbs - no success!

BTW, it's usual to thouth error windows with bug report on the start of the game (from the desctop) - but does not crush the game.

I have received this from 2K Support:

"The game does require an AVX2 chip Processor, and please keep in mind that it has to be of the 4th Generation from Intel (i.e. i5-4690) or higher."

I don't have AVX2 processor :(

I thought I was above the minimum requirements with my i7-3770k, as it's a better processor than the i5-4690. God damnit.

I just got a new laptop, and Civ7 worked the first time I loaded it up, and then it crashes as soon as I start the program, with the same message each time about submitting an error report. Attaching the Dxdiag file below. Thanks!

I also keep setting up a new game and just before the start button appears it crashes. Not always!! I have completed 2 games, not well!, but this does happen quite frquently with the message showing up about reporting crash.

It has been very long time as I had laptop with igpu and dgpu. So my advices might not be up to date extremely well.

I do not think you nvidia drivers are up to date. If Acer allows direct drivers updates from Nvidia you could get newer driver propably there.

Also if it worked nicely once could there be issue with the optimus GPU selection technology? Maybe it tries to run it with intel igpu? Back in the day nvidia drivers offered way to force start with nvidia dgpus from settings.

Thank you for the suggestions, but unfortunately I've updated to the latest driver, and I have used the Nvidia panel to set the Civ7 .exe file to use the high graphics processor, with no luck. I've also tried a full uninstall/reinstall without success.

Every time I try to open the game, it crashes immediately and displays a crash report. I’ve tried restarting my device and reinstalling the game, but the issue persists. It was working fine before the latest update, so this might be related. Please look into this as soon as possible—I really enjoy the game and would love to get back to playing without issues.
Depends of what you mean reinstalling the game, but if it means "uninstall from steam, and install from steam" it almost never helps to any problems. Game setting files are not cleared or cleaned.

Note first: Saves need backuping! Otherwise you loose all local saves too.
You need to delete the game settings folder manually.
Delete folder: %localappdata%\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII and you are starting effectively from scratch. I think you loose all settings and logins etc to 2K.
