Hello Good People,

This is a call to anyone who is playing Civ I for Mac. I really, really need new authentic screenshots for this version. I do not have a mac and do not know of anyone who does. These shots should include opening, city screen, diplomacy, units, improvements, terrain/map, civilopedia, and anything interesting.

Any help is appreciated -- duplicates are welcome.

Also, if there are any downloads or info that you think should be included on a website please tell.

Best regards,

This is not as easy as it seems. Civ 1 runs best only on 68k Macs up to OS 8.1. It runs poorly if at all on PPC Macs with OS 8.5 and higher or in the Classic environment of OS X. I use it with the Basilisk emulator though, however it's not possible to make screenshots, at least not in the full screen mode (and on my Powerbook Basilisk won't run in the window mode).

I understand. This however, underscores the absolute need to have screenshots though. It's important that we can show that civ runs on a mac or in basilisk. I face the same problem==I can get one either. I was hoping for a solution if anyone knows.

In my experience Civ runs fine under OS 9 and Classic/OS X/PPC, just as long as you switch to 256 colours.

I should be able to post a few screen shots in a day or two anyway.

Thanks Groovin!

This will be very helpful...I knew it was possible...

I haven't played a game on the Mac in a long time. Heres a few pics from a saved game.

And a link to the a full photo of the world map, seen as I have a widescreen monitor hooked onto the iBook the photo is quite large:

Thanks Groovin' :goodjob:

Your contribution is an asset to the world of Civ...keep up the good work...any other screenshots would help too...

Also, if you can scan any covers or so forth and post that would also help...and this goes for everyone...these things are hard to find and it is good to know what the heck it looks like just in case you're in the thrift store.

There are so many different versions...you might not even know what you have until you look...

Thanks again for the help!

Best to all,
