I was thinking of this once and decided i would ask my fellow civers

would it be possible to effectively put CIV II, or CIV I, on GBA?

Another problem is memory; a CD and a GBA cartridge have a big difference in storage capacity. A GBA probably couldn't handle all that data for Civ2 on one cartridge.

I'm pretty sure Civ2 would fit on any cartridge quite comfortably. Without the videos it's less than 40MB, stripping all unnecessary files (including sounds) reduces it to less than 20MB.

Civ1 is obviously many times smaller than that.

But I don't know anything about GBA. It might fit on a cartridge, but can GBA actually run Windows games?

It wouldn't be Windows game. Game Boy can run any game formatted for it. I think it would work fine, but I don't think it would be a good idea. You couldn't save many games, for one thing. The hightlight of Civ2 are the scenarios, and there wouldn't be any way to do that with the current GBA. I'm sure a future Game Boy will have internet capability, but until then, Civ is a series best suited for computers.
