Civ III mods and scenarios

i've become bored with the original civ single player and have wanted to try some of the ones on this and the oficial website. Whenever i have tried to play the files after downloading them, i have been confronted with two messages, either a message saying it is the wrong version of the game 3.08 not compatible, or something saing it can't be opened because the file may be corrupted.

I would like step by step directions if possible on how to unload a downloaded scenario, i have Civ3 gold edition, i believe the box is not at my house

You'd get a better support if you post a request for the specific scenario you want to play.

Try to post in the thread describing the scenario to get answer from its creator
