how come when i used to make my own games on civ editor, i was fine and all, and techs and other stuff built in cities took the normal amount of time to build. Now, this just started happening, it is taking the maximum amounts of turns to complete. It is taking 40 turns to get like horseback Riding, when it can normally only be 4 turns. It is taking 3 turns to make my usual 1 turn War Elephant. I have edited the game quite a bit in this game (I.E.-made it so that planes can fly over land and aren't immobile, and changed the name of riflemen to redcoats and made them English specific.) but that normally hasn't done anything this bad before. I want to have slight advantages over the AI but now just to make it fair, i have to start out 2 ages ahead, so by Modern times we are on the same page! How can i make it so it doesn't always take the max turns?
(i have vanilla version)
That isn't my only question.... but i forget my other... :(

All u have to do is go to the "general" rules tab and change the minimum and maximum reserch times to ur liking and for units change their shield value downn a bit. hope this helps;the same thing happend to me.

note:it might also help to make the tile values a lttle higher, thi gives some good results:king:

well, when i did that, the AI soared waaay past me

just put the ai in a desolate area where their tile values suck and start your self in a good place with good tile values.
