Civilization Reflections is a blog intended for members of the Sid Meier's Civilization community to share their thoughts and experiences on the franchise. Many of the ideas explored in this blog relate to modding, but the topics aren't limited - they touch on anything between the franchise as a whole to individual games in the series, to the historical, political, and cultural themes contained within them, to the creative, technical, and communal issues that go with it. Above all, its a place for those that enjoy this franchise to share in each others' ideas about it.

Accompanying this blog is a seasonally published e-magazine called the Civilization Reflections Quarterly (formerly, the Civ Modding Monthly, and informally the Ladgazine). This will feature a selection of articles published over the season, as well as content exclusive to it. The first Quarterly issue is to be published at the start of December.

Greetings lads. I just wanted to cross-create this thread since there is no effective way to bridge the Civ VI and Civ V modding gaps here and the ladgazine may have been missed by the CIv VI-focused modding community. Please see the Civ V thread for individual posts concerning the releases, or the OP for the catalogue. You can also find a link to the CMM Discord development server here should you want to contribute - it would be great to have more Civ VI voices, for sure.

The Civ Modders Monthly: Issue 8
-----------------------
In this eighth issue, we reflect upon Homusubi's extensive catalogue of Japanese civs across Civ V and Civ VI. Also, M1sf1r3 considers some of the key differences in designing the same civilizations across different games. And for this special month, several modders consider what the modding community means to them. Enjoy lads.

The Civ Modders Monthly: Issue 9
-----------------------
In this ninth issue, we take a special look at a few things American: starting with Uighur_Caesar's reflections on his James K. Polk mod. We also speak with Deliverator about his work on creating Wonder mods for Civ VI. And Leugi, Lime, and Enigma have worked hard to bring you their concept for a hypothetical third expansion to Civ VI. Tara lads.

The Civ Modders Monthly: Issue 10
-----------------------
In this tenth issue, we focus on the brief modding period spent focusing on Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth. We also speak with Gedemon about the woes and frustrations of being a veteran Civ VI modder. And not to be outdone by Civ VI, some of Civ V's modders present their thoughts on a hypothetical third expansion for Civ V. Enjoy laddies.

Hello lads. Just wanted to post that the Ladgazine has now been shifted to a blog format with a quarterly magazine release instead. More info can be found on the blog, here. If you still wish to use this thread for anything, please feel free.

The Civ Modders Monthly: Issue 11
-----------------------
In this eleventh issue, we take an extended and self-reflective look at some of the recent civ mods to have been released. Deliverator also embarks on his first part in a series aiming to look at the way in which the natural world is depicted in the civ series. And we speak with the modders that made the 12 Days of Africa about their experiences.

The Civ Modders Monthly: Issue 12
-----------------------
In this belated twelfth issue, JFD considers the design philosophy at play when it comes to designing a fallen monarch. Rawsasquatch speaks about the creative process behind designing for fictional civs. And Lime concludes his What Makes a Good Design series by reflecting upon it as a whole.

Greeting lads. We're presently looking to get started on Volume 2 of the Civ Modding Magazine, which completed its first volume last month. The structure for Vol. 2 will be a bit more relaxed, so if you're interested in contributing, feel free to follow the link to its discord. Although the central focus of the magazine is on modding, you're more than welcome to contribute to just talk about civ (and your experiences thereby) in general (and not just Civ V). Hope to see some new faces. Churs.

Hi, JFD. I want to know, when will be "Leader Mods" update in Civilization VI Gathering Storm? Now the version of the mod is incompatible with the version of the game. Thank you.
P.s. Sorry for my english, wrote using Google Translate.

The Civ Modders Monthly: Issue 13
-----------------------
In this special issue, ExplosiveWatermelon talks about one of JFD's strangest civs: The Germans. Lime takes a look at one of CIVITAS' most popular creations. And Leugi reflects on the joys to be had in becoming a modder.
