With the addition of changing civs between the ages, I would love to see a Revolution DLC which focuses on empire stability with the newly global resource "Influence" and "Global and Regional Happiness".

The more Settlements your Civilization has, the more malus you get on your Global Influence / turn, similar to the Global Culture of Civ5, where your policies become more expensive the more cities you have. This would equal out the Influence so that building Tall instead of Wide doesn't limit your Influence/turn and stops the Influence inflation, similar to the mentioned formula below.

In addition, there could be a revolution mode, where regional unhappy towns can become neutral city states and regional unhappy cities can become an entire new capital corresponding to the age and should the capital survive become an AI leader that competes for victory later.

Let the REVOLUTION start today !!
Base Influence 15 instead of 10 on Capital

For every Settlement you own after your capital:
First Settlement -> -20% Total Influence/turn
2 Settlements -> -35% Total Influence/turn
3 Settlements -> -45% Total Influence/turn
4 Settlements -> -50% Total Influence/turn
5 Settlements -> -55% Total Influence/turn
6 -> -60% (capped) moderate version
7 -> -65%
8 -> -70%
9 -> -75% (capped) revolution version with flipping settlements

Cheers!
