Civ V battle system like Fantasy Wars ?

I noticed quite a few people who weren't thrilled with the new combat system for various reasons.

For all those wondering if this combat system can be any good at all, I very much think it will. Take a look at "Fantasy Wars" ( there's a demo too ) and you'll discover a very nice tactical battle system.

Oh yeah, this hasn't been mentioned yet.
Panzer General and Battle for Wesnoth are the more obvious choices when giving an example, but Fantasy Wars is also nice.
I've played the demo some time ago, but found the GUI not so good, it hid to many things in my opinion.
