Civ V

Who knows how bad it will be. I have read great reviews over that War of the Rings game. They found some inventive ways for turning a very computery RTS into a quite playable console game.

And again speaking from my ass (that is not from experience), isn't the quick game the "action" version of Civ? Just a few tweaks to simplify the commands to the number of buttons, or combo of buttons, on your average controller and - viola.

Just playing devil's advocate, console games are weak.

Console games are blind superb fun. I have tried to play Civ for fun -- domination or anhilation. It just takes so long to get your build time down to 1 or 2 rounds to make it worth while. You always have to build every stinking bldg in every town for happiness and health. There are times that it gets very old and time consuming very fast.

I'm sorry. But if you can't pop out a unit every round or every other round, the game sucks. But, I still play at chieftain on continents with mild climate settings. I've even gone into world builder to give myself a huge advance start (I doubt I'm the only one). There is just something missing -- not to mention recent patches have created more bugs than solved.

Sorry for the rant.
